MUNICH-The German international Bastian Schweinsteiger suffered a broken collarbone today in the match of the Champions League at the Naples and will be sidelined four to six weeks, according to the German club.
Schweinsteiger was injured in a collision with Ilner in the second half of the match against Bayern won the Naples 3-2.
The German midfielder will miss the next and Bundesliga matches and two matches remaining in the group stage of Champions League against Villarreal and Manchester United.
"Obviously the injury affects us, is a key player in midfield who was in an extraordinary way. But so far we have managed to compensate all the losses we had," he said in a statement to Sky Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes at the end of the match.
